Asociatia Curtea Culorilor
Languages spoken on the farm:
Romanian and Italian
Description of the area:
Small village with just over 200 people near a nice forest.
What do you grow on the farm:
We have a large vegetable garden with various vegetables, also grow asparagus and strawberries for our personal use and also for sale. We have rabbits in semi-freedom, a hen house and we also have a cow but it is fed by others. With our milk we make ripe and fresh cheese made with Italian recipes
Months when they accept voulteers:
All year long.
Volunteers can help us in all our activities: making cheese, selling cheese through the ASAT community supported agriculture project, cultivating the garden, processing the vegetables in different ways, chopping wood for heating, and taking care of the animals. Since we have a building which needs to be restored also volunteers who know how to do building work, electricians and plumbers can be useful.
The volunteers will be accommodated in the house of the association together with us. We have two rooms available, one for men and one for women.
The food is predominantly Italian cuisine; the meat is eaten rarely and mostly chicken and sometimes rabbits.
A few words about the family:
We are an association made of three persons: Adriana (Italian) Gabriela and Petronela. Our association aims to accommodate and provide professional and human training to abandoned girls who used to live in orphanages.
Cats and dogs.
