Description of the area:
Sky' Hill Farm is situated in Cheile Nerei Natural Reserve, 5 km from Dalboset Village; 2 hours and a half from Timisoara city or 1 hour and a half from Herculane city by car. It is a very beautiful area with hills and valleys, forests, beautiful lakes and the Nera river. We like to work in the farm during work days and then have fun in week-ends. That's when we take bike trips, we visit Ravensca and Socolari villages and the UNESCO protected water mills from Rudaria. For an amazing meeting with the Danube river we go to Moldova Noua or to the gorgeous landscape of Danube's Canyon. Closer we have Devil's Lake with its legend and the Biger waterfall, one of the most unusual waterfalls in the world and one of the most beautiful in Romania, mentioned in the National Geographic Journal as one of the most beautiful in the world.
What do you grow on the farm:
We cultivate cereals, vegetables, medicinal herbs; we have a plums, apple and cherries orchard - everything bio certificated since May 2015.
Farm size:
Sky Hill Farm consists of aprox 10 ha including the forest, a water spring ( microbiologically tested ) and 2 houses ( one for students, wwoof-ers, artists, the hosts and one for teachers ). Along with 1 ha orchard of plums, cherries and apples we cultivate cereals, vegetables, have areas with medicinal herbs and this year we also introduced with small steps, lavender and roses. Our nights spent around the fire place, under the clear sky with the brightest stars you've ever seen, are filled with talks, songs, laughter or pure contemplation. Close to the farm is the Nera river – the purest and most regenerating water after a work day or for the amazing rafting week-end …
