The property is owned by two sisters and it is being developed as a future retreat center within a permaculture farm. Marta is specialized in environmental protection and permaculture while Raluca (who visits the property only so often) is a certified psychologist, who approaches holistic therapy in private and group sessions. We are at the beginning stages of development, and this year we are developing our gardens and permaculture practices and reconstructing portion of the house. Currently, I am busy studying until 12/noon, so work starts at 12 (after lunch) until 6-7 pm (dinner time). The type of work includes clearing out bush and trimming/cutting trees, possibly picking trash if there is some around, fencing the garden, grass trimming, raised bed construction and filling, planting and transplanting, forest foraging, building a solar dehydrator for the harvested herbs and mushrooms, possibly digging out a pond and working on a rain water catching system for irrigation. We are in the process of buying one more hectare of land, so we'll be visiting and surveying the location some days. Vegetarian food will be provided (with dairy and eggs from local suppliers ), everyone contributing to making meals and cleanup. For accommodations, we have one room and space for tents. We can take in only two volunteers at a time. Please bring your own sleeping bag. There is an indoor shower with running water (due to water shortages, there is only one day of full showering per week, the rest of the days will have water for monkey bathing:)) and an outside toilet. There are two friendly dogs on site. I am very passionate about protecting nature and conserving our natural resources. I love my dogs and walking around in the nearby forest. I have a master's degree in sustainable agriculture, specialized in permaculture, and completing a teaching certification process for chemistry. Additionally, I strive to maintain my body healthy and strong, and my mind centered, so I practice meditation every chance I get (eager to practice along side the volunteers if interested).
