Hello, we are a family of four, Cosmin, Oana and our two children Cris and Andrei. We live on an aproximate 2.5ha plot of land composed mostly of grassland and traditional fruit orchard, a small 1000 sqm arable land where we grow vegetables including in two greenhouses. On our land we have a temporary stream, a spring with drinkable water and a small pond where we grow fish with water lilies and reed. On one side the land borders a forest with sandstone cliff and we often forage for mushrooms, herbs, medicinal plant and berries for fresh consumption and preservation for winter. In order to work the land and manage the farm we own a small tractor and ATV(quad). We grow poultry and waterfowl for eggs and meat. Currently we have as pets a goose named Anabelle, two cats and a dog named Simba (lagotto romagnolo). Cosmin is a hobby carpenter and can make from wood almost anything and Oana paints, tailors and bakes for family. Our parents live nearby and help us with chores as we also work as biologists at Jibou Botanical Garden. We believe in self sufficiency and low environment impact and strive to preserve and revive the traditional ways of land management and food production and preservation. With us you can experience a traditional way of living typical for Transylvanian villages. We can teach you everything we know about farm management, food production and preservation use of natural resources in a responsible low impact way. From daily chores (feed and care for animals), maintaining a vegetable garden and greenhouse and grassland to handcrafting objects for house use and use of aromatic and medicinal herbs we will be very happy to share with you all theses experiences. We own a second house that we do not use and where we can accommodate you with modern comfort conditions should you need it including wifi and tv. The house is about 200m on the same street. We will welcome you as guests and share the food according to your dietary needs. We recently built a traditional wood-burning sauna, open-air shower and a meditation room where we can relax in the evening. We consider it important, and start a family project on collecting and preserving the old apple trees as well as document the traditional architecture of the old houses in our area and will be happy to take you in trips in exploratory documenting in the surrounding villages. We often go in day-trips to the mountains around and you of corse are welcome. Unfortunately we are not able to host Wwoofers that do not hold the legal right for volunteer work in Romania or EU as we are not legally entitled to provide an invitation letter necessary to obtain a Romanian or EU Visa!

Cosmin, Oana, Cris, and Andrei were wonderful hosts. We had the chance to taste several delicious Romanian dishes and discover their daily life. Our work mainly involved chopping wood for the winter, as well as harvesting fruit (apples, peaches) and feeding the chickens, geese, and ducks. The village of Tamașa is peaceful and soothing, nestled among the hills. It was a fabulous experience in Transylvania that we can only warmly recommend. Thank you again for your generosity!

I am very grateful for my stay at Cosmin s farm. I was welcomed into the family with great warmth and generosity. The family's roots are deeply attracted to the village and its way of life, so I was given a great insight into its food and farming. I enjoyed helping with the running of the orchards, polytunnels and preparing the wood for winter. It felt a small exchange, to then see the food being turned into great Romanian dishes for the table for us to enjoy as a family every day. Preserving food for the rest of the year was a good lesson. I was included in everything, from taking the apples for juicing, visiting local markets, picking mushrooms for breakfast, bottling mountain water to sightseeing trips. I have had such a rewarding experience, I consider myself so lucky. I hope Cosmin's family have chance to visit me in Wales. Diolch o galon Kerry

I spent about 2 weeks here and had a great time. I learned a lot and had a lot of new experiences. It is in a beautiful location and the hosts are welcoming. The tasks and hours vary day by day but are interesting and rewarding without being difficult. I also found the chickens, geese, and ducks to be very charming.

Volunteering with Cosmin and Oana has been a wonderful experience. The whole family made us feel very welcome and we loved helping with harvesting, weeding and preserving the fruit and vegetables. Oana kept us well fed with fantastic Romanian recipes and we also got the opportunity to learn about and explore the local countryside and villages and to meet other people living locally. Many thanks 🤗

Were 5 unforgetable weeks in this lovely place, i had the opportunity to learn in the green houses and in the field, about thr fruit trees, chicken, ducks and geese, also how to prepare yogurt, bread, marmelade and different other dishes and I'm so grateful to the family they are so so nice and make you feel at home from the first day, they have a lot of knowladge so it was useful and very interesing but above all they are very human and it was a pleasure to share time with them and with the other woofers too, totally recomend this place if u search for an authentic romanian village experience! :)
