My name is Agnes and together with my husband Jan we manage a small diverse farm in southern Transilvania. We do a vegetable CSA (SoLaWi, AMAP) with 16 families, weekly delivering in Sibiu. We have a few sheep, chickens and runner ducks. Recently we planted a small forest/park and a small energy forest (poplar trees). Volunteers at our farm work 5 hours a day (weekend free). Mostly in the morning and in the afternoon or evening an our or so, depending on what are the urgent jobs. We eat a warm lunch together and are happy with wwoofers that are cooks :). Preparing meals is work. In the growing season we weed and harvest a lot. Also other jobs like repairing fences, making hay, chopping wood. In our yard we have 2 houses. One of them is hosts our volunteers and /or guests. It has a living, kitchentte and bathroom. The attic has up to 5 beds available. Camping is also a possibility. The warm lunch is our main meal and we enjoy that together in our outside kitchen. For breakfast and evening meals we provide the ingredients and you are free to eat together or individually. We do not buy much, eat mostly our local food. Our farm is in a small village near the foothills of the Carpathian mountains. A great place for hiking. The historic town of Sibiu is accessible by train (trainstop 2,4km from our house).

We spend an amazing week at Agnes's place ! Her house is located in a very nice area in Transylvania, in a small village easily reachable from Sibiu. We enjoyed walking in the village and watching the beautiful mountains (they are very close!). We helped Agnes with weeding, harvesting, planting, watering, taking care of baby ducks… It was very interesting to work in her greenhouse & fields, where everyting grows well thanks to Agnes's knowledge and experience. Agnes was very kind and gentle, and the discussions with her were always very interesting. She made us feel at home and gave us a lot of freedom. We could sleep in a cosy house where we felt very comfortable! We met Jan, Agnes's partner, who was very welcoming and a great cook. We also had the opportunity to meet the neighbors pretty often, who were very friendly! They showed us how to do some labour with their cute donkey and invited us to their place, which was really nice! We had a really great time and strongly recommend Agnes's place :)

I am very happy with my stay at Agnes farm. If you want to learn about bio farming i would recommend Agnes and Jans place. Working hours were approximately 5 hours per day and free in the weekend.

Asbjorn is a very dedicated, tidy and reliable person, who contributed in a smooth way to the farm tasks. Also, we had some interesting conversations about our views on the world. Thank you Asbjorn!
